    Tại thời điểm nói câu thì "I" đang nhìn thấy tên "thief" chạy trốn khỏi nhà bank, tức là trong khi "saw" thì hành động "exit of the bank" đang diễn ra --> phải dùng gerund. Chuyện chắc chắn hay không thì phải xét ngữ cảnh, mà câu ở đây không có ngữ cảnh, không thể xét như vậy
